We made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend the on-site day program (Community Participation Services) effective Monday, March 23.
At this time, we are reviewing new guidance regarding in-person and on-site provision of services. We want to add supports in a way which maximizes benefits to those we serve while minimizing risks involved. We recognize that some individuals will continue to prefer to engage remotely. We will continue to provide this programming, in addition to our one-on-one programs.
We also recognize that some individuals will want to engage with a small group, and we are exploring options - not coming to the center, but being picked up at home. We are currently not welcoming clients back to our centers. We are discussing a plan for how we may begin doing so - in small groups - and will keep you updated we get closer to readiness.
Future developments over the coming weeks may impact this; our reopening task force will continue to meet to re-examine the situation and as needed modify and implement our planning.
Great Bay Services offers a wide selection of programs designed so every individual we serve can revel in each new skill they learn, each new activity they participate in, and each new opportunity to grow. Our goal is to promote increased awareness and skill levels in health, the arts, volunteerism, career development, technology, community participation, and other important life skills. We believe in the complete participation of people with intellectual disabilities in society, and are committed to growth and opportunity through mutual respect.
For six decades, we’ve supported individuals with intellectual disabilities, their families, and those who care for them. Having been founded by a group of caring parents, we’d like nothing better than to have the chance to work with your family.
We believe in lifelong learning and enrichment, and have developed fun, innovative community support programs to foster that ideal.
We help families navigate the Developmental Services system so your loved one can live a meaningful, self-directed life.
Our programs provide instruction
for individuals with intellectual disabilities in all aspects of finding, securing, and maintaining a job in the community.
